Security forces kill ten extremists in Dir


DIR: The security forces killed at least 10 militants and recovered the caches of arms and ammunitions during operations in several parts of Dir, the security sources said Saturday.There are reports regarding clashes between the security forces and the extremists in various areas including Kalpani and Gul Derai, where seven extremists were killed.Meantime, the extremists abducted renowned religious scholar Qazi Habibur Rehman and killed in Zaimdara area of Maidan. The killed scholar belonged to Tehreek Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi.The security forces all the night kept on bombarding in the various areas of Maidan killing three extremists and injuring various others. Also, several hideouts of militants were destroyed in the overnight operation.According to DCO, the curfew in tehsil Maidan and Adenzai will be relaxed 7am to 6pm. According to military sources, the forces have completely taken control of Kambar Bazaar area of Lower Dir and set various check posts there.According to the government sources, at least six extremists from areas of Buner, Daggar and Sultanwas.Also, the military completed its search operation in Mingora.According to Swat Media Center, the residents of Charbagh have been directed to leave the area by 1pm so that operation against the militants could be conducted after the operation was completed in Matta, Khawzakhel and Kabal. The migrants from the area have been urged to adopt the Khawazakhel route.Swat is persistently under curfew.Owing to the curfew in Malakand, people in Taimergra, Bajour and Upper and Lower Dir are suffering from the shortage of several things including eatables, petrol, kerosene oil and water.
